Winter days end early in the mountains. I plan the moment around the light, so the matterhorn glows when you ask.

Keep the ring box in an inside pocket. I bring blankets and something warm to drink, so you can stay for the photos.

Most mountain spots depend on the last ride down. Your timing starts with the lift timetable.

Wind, snow or a cloud on the Matterhorn: I always have a second spot and a second time slot ready.

Christmas, New Year and Valentine's Day fill up first. A good photographer stays hidden until the moment.
